Melody Gardot Tour 2022 Music has always played a critical role in Melody Gardot’s life. During her teenage years, her music career mainly consisted of playing the piano in various Philadelphia bars on the weekends. However, it all changed when Gardot met with a bicycle accident in 2003, learned to play the guitar, and started writing songs while recovering from a head injury in the hospital. UB40 Hailing from Birmingham, England, UB40 is one of the most commercially and critically successful reggae bands of all time with over 100 million records sold worldwide. Two of their albums, “Labour of Love” (1983) and Promises and Lies (1993) reached number one on the UK Albums chart. The name of the band is a reference to an unemployment scheme called the Unemployment Benefit, Form 40 (UB40) in the United Kingdom. Their first album “Signing Off” was released in August 1980 was an extended reference to indicate that the band was signing off from claiming unemployment benefits. In October of the same year, the album entered the UK Albums chart and spent a total of 71 weeks there.
